Canal General drainage tunnel

The project Túnel Canal General stormwater drainage tunnel in Mexico is aimed to prevent flooding in the Mexico Valley and contribute to the rehabilitation of the Tláhuac Xico lagoon. The project Ccomprises a 7.9km underground canal with capacity of 20m3/s and a 5m diameter pipe running from pumping plants Parada del Toro to La Caldera. Mexico's national water commission Conagua awarded the project to Mexican construction firm ICA. The project is part of a larger program being developed by Conagua to prevent floods in Mexico City.
