The Co Ma Tunnel is a 2 tube tunnel that was built as part of the Ca pass tunnel and road project to reduce the travel distance for commuters by 8km between the Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces and to help them avoid landslides during the rainy season.
Opened in September 2015, vehicles can travel at a maximum speed of 80km per hour through this 500m long tunnel.
The tunnel was excavated by New Austria Tunnelling Method (NATM) and has a diameter of 11m.
