Metro Athens - Extension Line 3

The Athens Metro extension of the Line 3 from Aghia Varvara to Dimotiko Theatro Piraeus is under construction. The project includes the excavation of one tunnel with the use of one TBM-EPB named “Hippodamus”. The diameter of the tunnel is 9,5 m and the total length will be 7,6 km with 6 stations, 6,5 km of the tunnel will be constructed using the EPB Lovat, while the remaining parts at the beginning and at the end of the project will be constructed via the underground excavation method.
