The Santa Lucia Tunnel will be a road tunnel with a total length of 7734m on the A1 Highway between Barberino del Mugello and Calenzano (Florence); the tunnel is being excavated by the EPB TBM Herrenknecht called “Martina”, the biggest TBM in Europe with a diameter equal to 15.965m. Mapei UTT is giving technical assistance during the excavation, supplying foaming agents, additives for two-component backfilling admixture, additives for precast concrete.
