Sparvo Tunnel

On highway tunnel along the A1 Milano – Napoli. The tunnel belongs to the great project “Variante di Valico”, with the goal to improve the communication between Bologna and Firenze along the Appennini area.
Underground Length: 5.5 km approx., excavated with 1 TBM-EPB.- At the moment of the excavation, the TBM was the biggest one in the whole world, with a excavation diameter of 15.62 m.
The two-component back fill grout system is being injected through the precast concrete rings and the formation.
