Tunel Churubusco

The project 'Tunel Churubusco' involves building a 13km long storm water drainage tunnel, of 5m in internal diameter. The area of the project is currently used as a regulating reservoir, or 'buffer zone,' to protect Mexico City from flooding. The works are part of Mexico's 2014-18 national water plan, which includes a series of initiatives to improve drainage in Mexico valley.
